In chapters 4, 5 & 6, John Green shows in his novel, An Abundance of Katherines, just how consistent the main character, Colin, needs things to be. We can see this by the way that Colin dates. He only allows himself to date Katherines, and all he wants from that Katherine is for her to say 'I love you'. We can clearly see this when Colin states, "I love you so much and I just want you to love me like I love you." This begins to reveal what Colin wants in a 'Katherine'. When Katherine XIX exclaims, "You don't need a girlfriend, Colin. You need a robot who says nothing but 'I love you'." This citation is clear that Colin needs consistency in life, especially while dating.
